Guests and New Members

Jim and Peg Bangert and the McNutts applied to LHDC on-line with no sponsors.  If you know about them, would you please let Eileen Kellen know so that we have their information and whether they have officially joined the club.  The executive committee has agreed that couples seeking membership really should have sponsors and a completed application for membership with their dues payment.

At the May dance we had the following guests:

The Nelsons brought Ben Plante, Natalie Gorg, Cindy Nelson, and Dave Gorg

The Giffords also brought guests; unfortunately we were unable to be sure of the writing in the guest book so that their names are not clear. 

A big welcome to all, and we hope to see all of you again.  We enjoyed a special treat of a dance demonstration by Ben Plante and Natalie Gorg (Natalie is Nelson’granddaughter)

which we all enjoyed.  Thank You!

And, we had new members, Dave and Cindy Bailey sponsored by the Jaakkolas.

Finishing their three year terms this year are Wanda and Marv Sorvala, Fred and Lori Badiyan and Eric and Pat Jaakkola.  Thank you all for a wonderful three years, and a special thank you to Marv and Wanda for leading us as chaircouple for two years!

Your New Executive Committee for 2009-2010

Philpots will take over the directory as well as assist with dance arrangements.

Horners will be writing the newsletter and filling in for Marilyn Budde as secretary when they are gone the winter months.

Gumbrells will be in charge of lining up the bands.

Budde/Vogel are secretaries and historians.

Fuerst/Kellen will continue with membership.

Seegers will continue with the invitations.

Sandgrens will also continue as our treasurers.

Cagles will remain in charge of dance arrangements.

Karkis are your new chaircouple.

If you have questions, comments or even complaints please contact any of us through the year or you may always use the suggestion boxes if you wish to remain anonymous.

We have also re-instated the assignment of an exec. comm.. couple to each dance as a go-to couple in case of any questions or should you be short a couple for short-notice emergencies or other problems that may arise.  These people usually do not have to serve on a committee, but are there in case of an emergency especially now that we are a little shorter on couples to fill in.  So far these exec. comm..couples have taken the following months:

            Sept.    Sandgrens

            Oct.     Budde/Vogel

            Dec.     Horners

            March  Seegers

We still need executive committee couples for Feb., April and May.  If you are willing to be that contact, please let Philpots know so that they have this information for the directory.  Thanks.

For regular members who have not yet signed up for a dance committee in the 2009-2010 season, Patty Marsh-Cagle will be in contact with you if you don’t call her first!

Reminder about 2009- 2010 season dance dates:

Sept 19; October 17; December 5, February 6, March 6, April 17, May 15.
